I'm going to miss the wedding."
Suddenly he stopped and said, "Oh, NO! It's lost!"
"What's lost?" said Jillian.
"The ring! The wedding ring!" said the man.
"I've lost the ring."
"I'll help you find it," said Jillian.
She crawled around and got quite dirty, but after a while she found the ring in a mud puddle.
image Robert Munsch has created another story that will keep young readers or listeners glued to every page. Eugenie Fernandes' illustrations are so lively and beautifully coloured that even those children most addicted to television will realize that books can be every bit as entertaining as sitting in front of the tube. Jillian, a little Mohawk girl, puts on her pretty traditional ribbon dress which her grandmother had made for her. She and her mother are about to go to a wedding in a nearby church. As Jillian waits for her mother to join her, other guests go by, some of them unsure of the way to the church, others with various problems. Jillian manages to help them all by making use of the long ribbons that decorate her dress. Because of her helpfulness, she is invited to be the flower girl at the wedding. Proudly she leads the procession up the aisle of the church, "and even though her dress was all dirty and full of holes, everyone said she was the prettiest kid there."
