CAREER INFORMATION: A BIBLIOGRAPHY OF PUBLICATIONS ABOUT CAREERS IN CANADA
Edited by James and Sybil Huffman.
Volume 10 Number 4.
From 1977 to 1979 the Guidance Centre published nine separate bibliographic volumes of publications about careers in Canada by the editors of this one-volume revised edition. This new, updated edition is a comprehensive listing of a vast quantity of career materials published in Canada. In one volume, librarians and counsellors can easily discover the existence of, and methods of obtaining, such materials. Many are free! The book is organized by occupational area using Canadian Classification and Dictionary of Occupations (CCDO) categories. Information about each publication including title, author, date of publication, format, costs, limitations of distribution, name of supplier, recommendation on level of appeal, and brief description of the contents is included. The suppliers are listed alphabetically in a separate "Where to Write" section. The final section is an index by occupation. Career Information meets the needs of counsellors and librarians by supplying in one easy-to-use volume a list of Canadian-produced occupational publications. No doubt there are gaps. Some materials are already out of date. However, this is a tool that no counselling centre or library should be without.
