FROMMER'S DOLLAR-WISE GUIDE TO CANADA
Tom Brosnahan, John Godwin and Marilyn Wood.
Volume 10 Number 4.
A useful book if one were to travel all across Canada, but not particularly useful in a library where the information would have to be xeroxed or handcopied. It would be almost impossible for any such guide to include every "hotel, restaurant or nightspot in all price ranges" because of space, time, and fluctuating prices. Dollarwise does not try. It includes some of the multitude of possibilities. In Vancouver, a city that has a plethora of restaurants, only forty are listed. It includes a lot of medium to expensive places and things and not enough in the budget range. Perhaps Canada does not have budget options? My guess is that the people who can afford the Four Seasons and the Hyatt, etc., are not going to buy books of this sort anyway. If you need to ask the price, you cannot afford it. And for those of us who cannot afford it, a thorough guide needs to be written. If this many pages had been expended on a budget travel guide, it would be more valuable to the average traveller.
