Part One of this book gives sound, practical advice to the parents of learning-disabled (LD) children.

The authors recognize the importance of a child's self-esteem and how it can be damaged by constant failure. Using mostly lay language throughout, the authors describe ways of boosting a child's confidence and outline non-punitive ways to control unwanted behaviour. Also included is some level-headed advice on how to work with your child's teacher and some easy-to-understand descriptions of testing procedures.

Part Two contains over one hundred imaginative and challenging learning games to use with LD children. (Actually, the games would benefit all children.) The book concludes with a glossary of learning jargon designed to help parents cope with educators who have a penchant for the polysyllabic word.

A reading of Your Child Can Win will benefit teachers as well as parents.
