The Glass Garden is a studio and glass-work supply store in Halifax that gives beginning and intermediate classes in stained glass.

The four Glass Garden designers have come up with a well-put-together design sourcebook for beginning glassworkers. Suncatchers are small window-pieces that do not involve working within the constraints of frames and borders. This simple portfolio for copper foil glasswork features mostly natural forms. The groupings of fruits, vegetables, birds, flowers, whales, farm animals, etc., would lend themselves well to a theme collection.

The eighty-nine drawings are large and heavily lined for tracing. Designs call for from three to seventeen pieces and fall into three levels of difficulty, clearly indicated on each page. Anyone with one glass course should be able to cope with levels one and two.

A short appendix deals briefly with a few common problems in cutting, soldering, and hook placement. Recommended wherever glasswork is popular.
