HOW TO SELL YOUR OWN HOME
A. Vendor.
Volume 11 Number 1.
Anyone who has ever thought of selling their own home immediately thinks of the high realtor's commission that comes off the selling price. A. Vendor, the anonymous author of How to Sell Your Own Home, offers an alternative to listing your home with a realtor: sell it, yourself. The book explains easy to follow steps on how to price your home, advertise it, show it, and write up a sales agreement. He does caution that users must be prepared to invest their own time in order to do an adequate job of selling their home. He also advises hiring a lawyer to finalize sales agreements. The author offers advice on how to buy a house, from arranging financing to the actual offer to purchase. Advice from professionals in the field, lawyers, mortgage brokers, builders, and salespeople is also provided. If there is a weakness in the book, it is that the advice given by the professionals on how to sell your home is often repetitious. The author, a real estate salesman by profession, has written a practical book with clear instructions. A glossary defines any terminology one may not understand, and an extensive table of contents directs one to specific areas quickly and easily. The book is a helpful tool for anyone buying or selling a home, whether or not they decide to use the services of a real estate agent.
