MINI-BIKE RESCUE
Claire Mackay.
Volume 11 Number 1.
This latest book by Claire Mackay follows her two other mini-bike books, Mini-Bike Racer* and Mini-Bike Hero. Mini-Bike Rescue should appeal to young readers in that it is packed with action and a daring adventure. Julie's confrontations with her mother should strike a sympathetic chord in many young people whose parents "do not understand them." Julie is sent away to her Aunt Mo's for the summer because her mother wants to get her away from her friend Steve and her preoccupation with mini-bikes. Her mother also thinks that Julie should act and dress in a more "ladylike" fashion. Julie finds, though, that life at Aunt Mo's is far from being boring. In fact, she soon finds more excitement than she bargains for. This book should certainly have a place in elementary school and public libraries and should prove very popular. *Reviewed vol. V/2 Spring 1977 p.89
