UNITED EMPIRE LOYALISTS AND THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION
Alan Skeoch.
Volume 11 Number 2.
Skeoch now has several titles in this series to his credit. They are very much books for history teachers written by a history teacher who knows his subject and also the needs of his students. The information is carefully and authoritatively set out in "bites," which are easy to handle under clear chapter and sub-headings. The language usage level, both vocabulary and structure, makes the book highly recommended for classroom use and indeed numerous sets of books from the series are successfully being used in schools at the grades 7 and 8 levels. All maps and diagrams are simple and clear, while contemporary prints make plentiful illustrations. A number of brief biographical sketches are to be found at the end of the book as are questions for discussion, a bibliography, and index. A good idea might be to offer this series in soft cover so that more class sets might be bought by schools.
