ARTS MANITOBA: A QUARTERLY REVIEW OF THE ARTS
Volume 11 Number 3.
Arts Manitoba is a quarterly review of the arts featuring informative, provocative articles, artists' profiles, and interviews covering the full range of contemporary arts in Manitoba and the western provinces. It contains a large number of black-and-white photographs of paintings and stage scenes. The scope of the magazine is broad within the arts field. The issue reviewed includes a feature interview with Esther Warkov, articles on painter Ivan Eyre, printmaker Chris Finn, ceramicist Suzanne Gauthier, and a photographic portfolio by William Eakin. The theatrical world is represented by feature articles on the Manitoba Theatre Centre, the Prairie Theatre Exchange, and Le Circle Moliere. An article on poetry and art and an interview with Bruce Ferguson on "Conservatism and Experimentation in Saskatchewan Art," are followed by an extensive book review section. The magazine will be of particular interest to the scholarly reader or student of the fine arts. It will also be of interest to those developing studies in theatre arts in Canada.
