INVITE A PUPPCORN TO CHRISTMAS DINNER
Volume 11 Number 5.
This is a bright and breezy album with catchy tunes, ideal for home or school in December. Words and music on side I are by Lois and Herb Walker, except for "Spaghetti" by Joey Walker, and range from light, bouncy melodies to the rather beautiful "Christmas Lullaby" at the end. Side II is a story adapted from an Ojibway tale and called "The Christmas Star." Iroquois, Micmacs, Inuit, and west coast native peoples are mentioned and linked to the Christmas star over Bethlehem. Children will have no trouble following the story for the diction is excellent. Indeed the songs in the album won the 1980 CAN PRO award in a Christmas television special. The record or tape would be a good addition to school libraries or home collections. Includes words for songs and directions for making a puppcorn on the record sleeve.
