Volume 12 Number 2
What's the difference between a donkey and a mule? Is it true that crocodiles cry? Where do flies go in winter? Answers to these and hundreds of other similarly intriguing questions can be found in these two recent additions to a series of juvenile natural science titles published jointly by OWL Magazine and Golden Press. Carefully indexed and strikingly illustrated with drawings and photographs, both books should be popular additions to a school or public library. All answers have been verified, with credit given to an impressive list of scientific consultants. The large 8% x 11 inch format may not appeal to older children and binding could be a problem (one of my copies came unhinged on the first opening).
