TIME IT!
Marg Melanson.
Toronto, Copp Clark Pitman, c1983.
Volume 12 Number 2
The author has provided a series of 115 timed typing pieces that range from interesting articles on Old English to ones on the office of the future. Many are speed scored, with a range of twenty-eight to a hundred words per minute. The book is divided into three parts, described as "easy," "average," and "challenging." Part one is composed of seventy-five warm-up drills, each of which contains an easy speed-building line, then a variable line for building skill on a specific element, and a line to challenge and reinforce accuracy. Specific instructions are provided at the beginning of each part so that students may proceed at their own rate. A method of scoring and checking errors is included. This is an interesting, well-planned, and easy-to-follow addition to the current list of typing texts published in Canada. B. C. Beard, Guelph, ON. |
