MAPLE SUGARING
Robert B. Mansour, 1982. Distributed by ETHOS, 2250 Midland Ave., Scarborough, Ont., M1P 3E6.
Volume 12 Number 2
Early methods of sugaring are contrasted with the newer techniques. The range of procedures extends from those of the Indians to plastic tubing, underground pipes, and evaporating equipment. The quality is uneven in the presentation. Some of the photographs are unappealing, and some of the cartooning is poor. The narrator's voice tends to be monotonous. Fourteen activity cards are included, offering interesting and useful suggestions for follow-up and further investigation. Recommended with reservations From the Evaluation Committee of the Board of Education for the City of North York. |
