1984 May

In effective documentary style, this kit presents the development of Toronto's industries, education system, and buildings in the last century and a half. In addition to the usual, some more extraordinary aspects are included, such as Sir Henry Pellatt's contributions to the development of Toronto, the city in both World Wars, the citizens' war effort, the effects of the Depression, and the gradual improvements in labourers' working conditions. This interesting presentation uses historical documents, headlines, photos, and drawings in varied framing styles. Subdued music strikes the periods. Highly recommended.
