CANADIAN WORKSHOP: THE MAGAZINE FOR ALL HOME DO-IT-YOURSELFERS
vol. 1-, 1977-. Markham (ON), Canadian Workshop. 12 issues a year.
Volume 12 Number 5
Canadian Workshop is aimed at the do-it-yourself home workshop enthusiast. Over half the magazine's content is devoted to various projects, most of which concern woodworking, and detailed plans are given for items such as book cases, closets, cabinets, tables, and magazine racks. Other projects include plumbing, weatherproofing, and insulating. Occasional articles deal with the use of tools and with gardening. Most measurements are still given in the Imperial system. While the plans are line drawings and the step-by-step photos are black and white, a colour photo of the finished product is usually included. Written answers are given to reader queries. Advertising averages twenty-nine per cent of the content, and generally concerns tools or materials. Recommended for secondary schools offering woodworking or carpentry courses. C. Naslund, Vancouver, BC. |
