Scott Volume 13 Number 2 1985 March Rosalyn Rabbit Returns is a collection of three stories featuring Rosalyn Rabbit and the little girl. In A Summer Story, Rosalyn's animal friends have left to explore. Feeling lonesome, she remembers the little girl in the city. Rosalyn arrives at the little girl's home to discover that the little brother, Peter is pretending to be a caterpillar. In an attempt to discourage him, Rosalyn brings him twenty-three caterpillars that discourage him from being one of them. Instead, the next day he will be a hippopotamus. In A Fall Story, Rosalyn's two front teeth come out while she is eating a large carrot. Matilda Mouse informs her that she will have to wait for her next teeth to grow. The little city girl makes carrot mush with a grater. With some money from the little girl's bank, plus money from the tooth fairy, Rosalyn will be able to buy her own grater. Another Hallowe'en Story has Rosalyn and the little girl who is dressed as a rabbit go out for treats. As they are walking, two big ghosts approach and demand their treat bags. Rosalyn's animal friends intervene and chase the ghosts. The animals and the little girl have a party with the treats. William Tobin's illustrations complement the text. Children will be able to relate to the stories. Since we teach children to express themselves properly, I am concerned about the use of incomplete sentences.
