Volume 13 Number 3 1985 May These four special occasion picture books are the latest in a series of twelve that have been "developed with experimental care" for babies from two months to one year of age. The author/artist designed the books after considerable observation of infant development and learning processes. The seeming intention of the series is to promote babies' visual and perceptual development, thus enabling them to acquire reading readiness skills at an early age, a goal of questionable concern to most babies. The Baabee Books would be interesting to look at, talk about, and enjoy with a young child. The easily identifiable illustrations on each page are clear and bright; although it is a bit puzzling to see human babies depicted in all the colours of the rainbow except purple.
