Both of these little gems succeed in their intent to help young children learn about animals in their natural environment. Olena Kassian's attractive, full-colour illustrations fill every page. All the illustrations are carefully researched, and they provide adults with opportunities to extend learning beyond the accompanying stories. Both of the stories are centred around problem-solving situations that young children could relate to, and sympathize with.
