LIFE SKILLS FOR ESL STUDENTS.
Prentice-Hall Media, 1984. Sound Film-strip. 3-78 frames, colour. $135.00. (1. Working 2. Housing 3. Money) Includes 3 audiocassettes, teacher's guide. Distributed by Prentice-Hall.
Volume 14 Number 1
This series is designed to be used by teachers with classes, small groups, or individuals. All three parts have narrative transcripts that are complete. The male voice is clear, and the pace is good. Each student will learn a great deal from the three topics covered. The vocabulary lists are good, as are the pre-and post-viewing questions and suggested activities. However, there are no visual aids or duplicating masters included. These would have been useful with beginning and intermediate ESL/D students in particular, e.g., classified ads, deposit and withdrawal slips from a bank, leases for apartment rental, etc. Highly recommended.
