Aspects of water pollution, water diversion, and acid rain, emphasizing the political background of these controversial issues is the thrust of this booklet. In a detailed introduction, the process of doing a political study of an issue is given. This can be applied, as the authors point out, to many issues from local to international. Each chapter is four or five pages long, with duplicated newspaper or magazine articles included. This provides ideas for the teacher and gives the students a sense of current affairs, along with the information. At the end of each chapter are questions. The book is aimed at Canadian studies programs in the junior and senior high school. It would be helpful to a teacher wanting to do a short study of a specific problem concerning water, or of a unit on "the politics of water." It would be helpful to teachers across Canada who want to give such an introduction to Canadian-American problems in local or distant regions.
