Lois Walker's More Wonderful Puppcorn Puppets is her second book on puppet making. Her first was Puppets the Puppcorn Way* All ten puppets featured in this book are made from items around the house that are usually relegated to the trash can. Materials such as paper plates and cups, cardboard tubes, egg canons, fast food burger containers, bleach jugs, and cereal boxes are used to create puppets like Jeremiah Jug Puppcorn, Eddie Egg Carton Puppcorn, and Petula T. Plate Puppcorn, to name a few. All ten, incidentally, can be seen on the award-winning daily television series. The ten puppets are sure to amuse and catch the imagination of children. The instructions are precise and the accompanying illustrations by Lori Goddard and Debbie Porter clearly demonstrate the steps to be taken. Children should not have too much difficulty in creating these characters and will soon branch out into puppets of their own design. An ideal book for parents, group leaders, and teachers as well as children, it will provide hours of inexpensive activity. Once the puppets are finished, children will be able to further enjoy themselves by putting on puppet shows or engaging in puppet play. Recommended.
