This set was designed to convey a message: that women have been denied fulfillment and dignity and will continue to be if they do not know their options and their rights. The visuals have been chosen to project the message. Except for the unit on pioneer women, which is entirely documentary, the visuals chosen have little originality or continuity; although a typical character appears in more than one strip, her story is not personalized. The set is designed to be provocative, but polemic is not well suited to the medium. Documentation is. The guide includes the text of the script. Recommended with reservations.
