Volume 16 Number 1
Seals of Eastern Canada is an activity booklet with the opening twenty-one pages giving all the information necessary for the activity section. Six seals and the walrus are described. For each animal we are given a black-and-white illustration, a distribution map, and pertinent information under the headings of name, weight, size, life span, food, predators, habitat, typical features, and interesting notes. There is information given on how scientists classify animals. There are eleven activities (with solutions) designed to reinforce the information the students have read. Included are seventy-two cards (some of which require some preparation before use), a table of contents, bibliography and source of films. This booklet would be an excellent resource for an activity centre. Available in English and French.
