The unit contains four phonic cards, five word study cards, three creative cards, three mathematics cards, six research cards, six reading cards, six enrichment cards, and six information cards, with permission to copy on purchase of the kit. This kit is a comprehensive set of study and discussion materials with questions suitable for library research and assignments for elementary graphics and sketches. The directions are clear and simple, and each "card" is ready for duplicating as a worksheet, so that the teacher is free to select those desired for use. More marked differentiation among the types of rail cars would be an improvement. There is one glaring error—the famous "last spike" was driven by Donald Smith, not William Lyon MacKenzie [sic]. The kit is part of a series called "Learning Can Be Fun," which is designed as prepared interest centre or individualized seat work materials. Suitable for a basic unit.
