Video City is a cassette tape and activity book. This tape is an interesting satire of the video world into which Ann, a student, is enticed.

Video City opens at a Tad Vapid (who lives up to his name) rock concert where Ann wins a contest and meets the star. Video City pokes fun at game shows and commercials, fast food from a robot-like machine, news broadcasting and the contractual life of Video City. When Vapid asks what school is, Ann tells him it's not like it is in the videos, as heavy metal riffs are heard in the background.

The contemporary music competently combines thoughtful lyrics with rock music. Along with the lyrics in the book are question and answer interviews with the characters, mazes, brain twisters, multiple-choice questions, an introduction to the characters, and nineteen steps to video stardom.

The music, the story theatre with its tongue-in-cheek comedy, and the activities are all thought-provoking and provide a creative vehicle for a trip to Video City. A totally awesome adventure!
