CANADA IN SPACE.
AV International. 1985. Sound Filmstrip, 44 frames. $38.50. Includes teacher's guide and 1 cassette.
Volume 16 Number 4
This set reviews Canada's contribution to the NASA space program in developing the Alouette and Anik satellites, and contributing astronauts, the manipulator arm, and conducting space sickness research. All the images are familiar NASA stills, Canadian government publicity shots, or graphics. There is a good deal of information for each frame, so that the pace is slow. But the shots are compelling, even in their familiarity. The manual includes a general introduction, text of the narration, and presentation tips. Recommended.
