Artist's sketches, often humorous, are the visual component of these traditional tales. The stories are pleasantly narrated. Vocabulary, grammar and style make the text suitable only for senior advanced or immersion students. It would of course be possible to simplify and/or narrate orally. The stories are not complex. The manual contains some background to the story, the text, and a glossary of unusual or idiomatic terms. Recommended.
