The book contains profiles of forty Canadian Jazz musicians from across the country who represent different musical styles and attitudes and who, according to the author, show continuing dedication, past accomplishment, and future promise. Biographical information, which is written in a crisp journalistic style and is easy to read, Is alphabetically arranged by chapters. There are numerous black-and-white photographs taken by the author along with an introduction. preface and index. In his earlier book Jazz In Canada: fourteen Lives,* Miller provided a historical context for the rise of Jazz in Canada since the 1920s.
