The table of contents lists twenty-eight different dinosaur topics. Most of these topics are given a double-page spread, occasionally four pages, with labelled colour illustrations. Although many of the different dinosaurs are included, the content headings are more about general ideas such as size, appendages, ability to attack and defend, skulls, footprints and the changing beliefs of the scientists. It is not unusual to find five or six sub-topic titles scattered around the illustrations with short paragraphs about the current ideas. This method is likely to hold the interest of the young reader and/or those who have a reading disability. A dinosaur "picture gallery" shows the reptiles' size in relation to a human; in addition, there are capsule comments on the pronunciation of the name, approximate date the dinosaur appeared on earth, and the type of food it consumed. This is one of the more useful dinosaur books I have seen for an elementary school library collection.
