This picture-book with a sentence and a picture on every page lists the ways in which a child loves his or her mother. The pictures in soft colour show animals, a bear cuddling its cub, an alligator cleaning its teeth, a cat and kitten licking up split milk. Singly, the sentiments are irreproachable but strung together their effect is somewhat cloying. This book could be used to encourage discussion about love and self-image.
