The financial pages of the newspaper contain a large volume and variety of statistical information that non-specialist readers must find difficult to comprehend. The Investor's Handbook is a well-organized guide that explains the meanings of the terms used in expressing that statistical information. Each chapter deals with one important division of that information, and each contains a brief introduction followed by an alphabetical list of terms with their definitions. The chief strengths of this handbook are its simplicity and organization. The organization is the result of appropriate breaking up of the content into straightforward divisions. The text is strengthened by an excellent index. This handbook is of obvious value to investors not fully versed in the terminology of financial newspapers and could be of value in a secondary school library as a guide to the terms used in investment.
