This book is very rewarding. It is told in a warm, humble, humorous way; I was amused by Skelton's view of life. Robin Skelton is "a man of letters": he has been a creative writing teacher, a published poet, a scholar and a review writer, to name a few of his pastimes. He is also a witch! Robin Skelton has written and published at a vigorous pace. He has composed volumes of poetry, translated verse, written drama, fiction, biographies and criticisms, and he continues to astound readers with his intellectual growth. The subject of the book is of course Skelton's life, and what a fascinating life it has been. We are introduced to numerous people, including Ezra Pound, Robert Graves, Siegfried Sassoon, Earle Birney and Margaret Atwood. Students studying Canadian literature will find this useful for background information on Robin Skelton and the Canadian literary scene. Adults of all ages will enjoy the light-hearted treatment. The book includes an index and a set of photographs.
