This book is an attempt to motivate teachers to involve themselves and their students in the process of writing. Practical and easy-to-follow step-by-stop procedures on implementing the writing process in the classroom are presented. Sample activities are illustrated. All Write is aimed at elementary school teachers, but could easily be adapted to intermediate and secondary level classrooms. The theories of Donald Graves, Lucy McCormick Calkens, Nancy Atwell, Frank Smith and Andrew Wilkinson have been cited and applied with the liberal practicalities for tested classroom experiences. The writing process described in this book refers to all the problem-solving activities that go into writing—described only through the act of writing, regularly and often. Schwartz has done a masterful Job of integrating the theory and the practice. The content will be immensely valuable for both teachers and librarians re-fuelling their idea banks. It provides a guide to anyone interested in fulfilling the Appreciation of Literature modes of a library program by inspiring the creative response through personal production of writing.
