Turner, who writes a column for the Toronto Sun, believes he can help us survive and even prosper in these troubled times. Everything Turner recommends has been said before. The difference between this book and others on investment advice is that Turner only discusses the things he and his wife have already done successfully. The proof is therefore in the pudding. If Turner's ideas have worked for him, they should work for us. They are things all Canadians can try if they have the initiative. Turner, as one would expect from someone on the staff of the Toronto Sun, believes in free enterprise. He dislikes and mistrusts big government and believes in the entrepreneurial spirit. Many will support his views on government as it continues to grow and require more and more money from tax payers. Written in an easy-to-read fashion, Survival Guide will be of help to anyone who is confused by the economy and wants some common sense investment advice. There are many small editing errors, such as "Wilson used this forecast of good times that to draw a veil over the debt." These errors show that the book was hastily put together and are mildly irritating. They do not detract from Turner's advice. Thomas F.
