At the end of this book, concepts are indexed under headings of "Direction/orientation." "Symbols," "Scale," "Location." "Time" and "Globe". There is also a glossary, a gazetteer and an index. Fundamental mapping skills such as use of symbols, scale, direction, projections, profiles, contours, grids, and oblique and vertical views are of interest to the geography teacher. Each concept la presented briefly and boldly, usually on a single page. The book was primarily designed for grades 3 to 6. However, when the book was examined recently by the Protestant School Board of Greater Montreal geographer coordinators, it was agreed that the colourful, effective presentation would make parts of this social science text quite useful even to general level high school students and to special education classes.
