The stories here are taken from Eva Martin's book, Canadian Fairy Tales. French narration has been provided on the cassettes, but the strips still have their English titles at the beginning. The luscious, evocative Illustrations by Laszlo Gal are used, but they are few; the rest are line sketches in a framed setting, poorly drawn and detracting from the glow of the originals and the tale. The narration is leisurely, so even students not fluent in French can follow. The teacher's guide gives background and summarizes content very briefly. Follow-up activities are suggested.
