DR. ZED'S SENSATIONAL SCIENCE ACTIVITIES
Gordon Penrose. Illustrated by Tina Holdcroft.
Volume 18 Number 6
OWL magazine has produced a lively, colourful and entertaining book of simple scientific experiments easily performed by children at home. The author, a former elementary science teacher, is a regular contributor, as Dr. Zed, to OWL and Chickadee magazines, and has a regular segment on Owl/TV. This is his fifth book for children. Twenty-two experiments illustrating scientific principles are outlined by the scientific method, concluding with an explanation of the results. Each experiment covers two pages, with the arrangement, design and colour of each entirely different. The book is profusely and brightly illustrated with cartoons. There is a complete table of contents and an index. The format is most pleasing, attractive and easily read by elementary school children. Highly recommended.Alma Webster, Edmonton, AB. |
