Volume 18 Number 6 1990 November This is the M&S Paperbacks edition of Mowat's personal account of his travels through Siberia, first published in 1970. It has not been updated. This book provides some useful background knowledge about the Soviet Union against which we can measure recent political developments. It should be seen as a snapshot of life in that part of the world at a particular time. Mowat's exuberant style is good entertainment at any time. Recommended.
