Papier-Mache Today is organized into five sections. An introduction gives general information about materials and construction methods. The next three sections give specific and easy-to-follow instructions for sixteen projects. These include animals, monsters, and home decor. The final section, "Finishing," gives hints about painting, texture and the addition of 3-D items. Teeth, eyes, toenails, wigs, feathers, lace and ribbons make your creation look more profes­sional. Colour photographs accompany the numbered instructions. A table of contents is included. Some animals and monsters, like Refrigerator Raider and Birdo, are flights of fantasy, while others like The Mutt and the Planter Cat are more realistic. The "Home Decor" section includes detailed instructions for bowls, napkin rings, trays and paperweights. The most ambitious projects are a mermaid and a life-sized figure of an eight-year-old girl skipping. Papier-Mache Today illustrates the versatility of papier-mache. The projects vary from simple, quickly finished objects to more challenging ones that should be attempted only by someone experienced in the craft of papier-mache or by the foolhardy.
