The eighteen-year-old athlete has written a book before he has even played professional hockey, let alone established a "career." This fact alone identifies what might be Eric Lindros' greatest aptitude - his ability, with the assistance of his family, to market and promote himself. The book itself is standard hockey biography. There is nothing here that separates this book from others of its genre. However, the controversy surrounding this athlete - who has challenged the NHL hockey establishment by refusing to report to the Quebec Nordiques, who drafted him - has raised his public profile to unprec­edented levels. The book contains a number of colour photos, mostly of family scenes, and there is a two-page summary of Eric Lindros' accomplishments as a hockey player at the minor league level. This book will be in great demand and very popular due to its author's no lonely as the touted successor to the "Great Gretzky’s hockey mantle. Suitable for audiences from upper elementary to adult readers. Buy it for the sports and hockey fan, and forget the fact that you are contributing to the wealth of this young marketing phenomenon.
