The Environment and You is a book intended for intermediate ESL learners and native Canadian literacy students. Capitalizing on the recent surge of interest in things environmental, the authors cover a range of topics from household garbage to staying warm. The fourteen units that comprise the book contain readings in a variety of text types (stories, letters, dialogues, checklists, etc.), each with a pre-reading section to get students thinking about the issues covered in the reading and a follow-up section with interactive pair and group oral activities and reading and writing tasks. The Environment and you is highly recomminded-a relevant and interesting resource for both teachers and students in ESL and literacy classes at secondary and adult levels.
