Volume 20 Number 6 1992 November The Canadian Environmental Directory has become a very important resource for my students embarking on environmental research projects. Inexperienced researchers have no difficulty using this book, which is organized into sections such as "Government Agencies," "Environmental Organizations," "Education & Research Establishments" and "Buyers Guide to Environmental and Product Services." When students embark on an environmen­tal project, they are deluged with newspaper clippings and generic articles, which fre­quently gloss over their topic. With this directory, students have a "first-stop research tool." Unlike other directories, this one provides the researcher not only with an address and a phone number but also with a contact person. Students enjoy talking directly to an expert. They are able to exchange views, and, with the aid of their mentor, they are able to chart their research course. Canadian Environmental Directory is a first-rate resource. Every library catering to the needs of environmental researchers should have a copy. The Canadian Environmental Directory 1992 is highly recommended as a research tool for anyone embarking on a contemporary environmental research project.
