Volume 21 Number 5
1993 October

This is a well-produced little book, third in the series of "Kids Can Easy Crafts" books, following Prints and Dolls. Judy Ann Sadler has been the author, and Marilyn Mets the illustrator, of each book in the series.

Both the text and the colour illustrations (on every page!) give clear directions for each project. As well, there are two introductory sections: "Getting Started and Materials" and "Helpful Hints and Basic Stitches." A dozen projects with child appeal are described — bean bags, hair scrunchees, sock dolls, hobby horses and others. Once the required materials such as needles, thread, scissors, buttons and cloth are gathered, minimum assistance from parents or teachers will be required.

Sewing will give children a rewarding sense of creative accomplishment. Recommended for home or school use.
