excerpt:
Accomplished author, Ruth Ohi, has returned with another story celebrating the bond of siblings in her new picture book, Me and My Brother. Using the successful template of Me and My Sister, Ohi transfers her attention to the relationship of brothers. In Me and My Brother, the reader follows the older brother, who appears to be around five, as he interacts with his younger brother. On each page, the older brother provides a short statement about what his brother is doing. As the pages turn, the author's simple text creates a gentle rhyming pattern that echoes the affection depicted by the pictures. Highly Recommended. Jonine Bergen works in the library at Westdale School in Winnipeg, MB.
