excerpt:
One bunny bouncing in a field - SPRRONG!!
A blue bunny hippity-hoppled along.
It saw that boingy bunny and what could it do?
BIP-BOP BOING-ALONG, now there were two!
The Bunny Ball is a board book about bunnies hopping along and having a jolly good time. It starts with one, and then there are a billion in a span of a couple of pages.
The book starts out fine, but I think the story and pictures get too busy and complicated too quickly. The Bunny Ball is trying to be a concept book about colours and numbers while being done in rhyme with tongue-twisting sounds. I think children will be entertained by the pictures of billions of different-coloured bunnies and the sounds of SPRRONG!! However, a much more concentrated and simpler effort would have had a stronger and lasting effect.
Recommended.
