CM . . . . Volume XVII Number 41 . . . . June 24, 2011
excerpt:
Zac Power, who works for the organization GIB, has been assigned the mission to stop BIG from stealing billions of dollars in donations from the charity rock concert for countries struck by the tsunami. He is rocketed, along with pet rat Cipher, to the SpaceFortress which houses a heavily guarded bank computer. All the money from the concert will be transferred via this computer.
Arriving on the space station, Zac discovers BIG's agent, Mirror, is actually twin girls, Pinky and Britney, and they brought a huge robot, Boltz, with them. Boltz pins Zac to the chair with little time to spare. You will have to read the book to discover how Zac and Cipher save the day. This fiction book is nonstop excitement from start to finish for students who like the spy and adventure genre. It contains many gadgets with well labelled black and white illustrations and a digital timepiece counting down the time Zac has left to stop BIG from stealing the donations raised by the rock concert. The print is big, and the chapters are not long, and this format would work well for students who are reluctant readers. The author, H. I. Larry, is a pseudonym for many authors who write the Zac Power stories. Recommended. Jean Nickel is a library technician at the Westglen School in Didsbury, AB.
