The question is posted every week and therefore should appear each week. If you have not received the question by Thursday then please e-mail me personally and I will get it out to you with lots of time to answer the question. Please try to find it from the regular sources first and only use this in the event you can't find it in the regular places. If everyone asks for it to be sent personally it will tie up a tremendous amount of my time.
This is another two-parter. You must get both parts correct. 1996 marks the 75th anniversary of the beginning of the research that led to the discovery of insulin in Toronto.
- What are the names of the two scientists who won the Nobel Prize for medicine for the discovery of insulin?
- What were the names of the two other scientists who worked as major contributors to the project but did not receive recognition from the Nobel Prize committee but with whom the recipients of the Nobel Prize shared their prize money?

In what year did women first vote in a Canadian federal election?
All women 21 and over were given the right to vote by law in 1918 and the first election in which all women were allowed to vote occurred in 1921. However, the first federal election in which women voted was the 1917 election. Under the Wartime Elections Act women in the armed forces and female relatives of men in the military were given the right to vote and did so in the 1917 election. So therefore the answer is 1917.
