The graphic novel element really sets the �Do You Know?� series apart from other animal fact books. Children will be attracted to the colourful illustrations and hilarious dialogue between the comical characters. Do You Know? series titles scheduled to be released in 2014 include dinosaurs, hyenas, komodo dragons, and praying mantises. Highly Recommended. �Do You Know?� is a new series where animal facts meet cartoon comedy. Do You Know Porcupines? is a nonfiction title that has taken on the very popular colourful graphic novel format. In this book that is best suited for recreational reading, young readers are introduced to facts about porcupines. Each page offers readers short informational excerpts, such as, �Porcupines live in forests, prairies and deserts. They are nocturnal animals.� [Illustration of porcupine saying, �I�m so sick of autumn!� as he has fallen leaves stuck in his quills, getting a response from his friend, the beaver, who comes back with, �No need to get your quills up over it.�] All of the informational excerpts are well accompanied with comical illustrations. Informative words that are related to porcupines, words such as nocturnal, rodents, and predators, etc. are in bolded text throughout the book and are defined in the glossary. Other specific porcupine information can be found in the book�s index.
