Author Gail Anderson-Dargatz has added a third book to her �Claire Abbott� mystery series, Race Against Time. The books in this series are �Rapid Reads� intended for literacy learners, but the subject matter also appeals to high school students and anyone who is looking for a fun action story. In Race Against Time, the small-town journalist Claire Abbott is haunted by her intuition about a bomb threat at the high school. Claire already has a reputation with the local first responders for using her sixth sense to solve crimes and flush out stories for the local newspaper where she works. Conflict develops because not everyone accepts or appreciates her participation. Also, she doesn�t always get it right. The suspense of the threatening situation and the uncertainty among the relationships of the characters engages the reader. I highly recommend this book because of the high action and suspenseful storyline that keeps readers captivated from beginning to end. Race Against Time would be a good addition to public libraries because of the large readership appeal. It would also complement high school classroom and library collections with its interesting subject matter and easy fast readability. Highly Recommended.
