excerpt:
What is a grownup to do when their little one just doesn't want to get out of bed? Good Morning, Grumple has just the solution: a song, a kiss, a hug, and a twist! With just the right amount of gentle, loving encouragement, even the grumpiest little grumple can be danced happily out the door. Victoria Allenby's sweet, lyrical text is rhythmic and loving, and it includes plenty of opportunities for interaction between toddlers and their caregivers. Caregivers can sing, tickle, kiss, hug and dance with their little ones as they start their day. Manon Gauthier's collage mixed media illustrations are utterly charming, with a soothing, muted earth toned palette and an endearing, childlike simplicity. Good Morning, Grumple is perfectly designed for the littlest of readers, with a soft, padded cover, rounded edges and thick, sturdy pages that will stand up to repeated readings with enthusiastic toddlers. Sweet, simple and loving, Good Morning, Grumple would be a lovely addition to a toddler's morning wake-up routine and is sure to help start the day off with a smile. Recommended.
